Artistic resume
Karolina Parmas, MM. Baroque Opera - Lithuanian soprano started her classical voice training at Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas, Lithuania with voice tutors: Assoc. Prof. Nomeda Kukulskienė (voice) and Lect. Raminta Vaicekauskaitė (chamber music). In 2019 Karolina together with pianist Zlata Oliinyk won the third prize at "XI Concorso Musicale Citta di Filadelfia" in Italy as a Chamber Duo. In 2022 Karolina completed solo voice master's studies in Baroque Opera at Lithuanian Music and Theatre Academy with tutors: Assoc. Prof. Māris Kupčs - conductor, harpsichordist and Early Music researcher, Lect. Dr. Saulė Šerytė, Lect. MM.(bis) Monta Martinsone as well as consultations with Lect. Dr. Rūta Vox (Vosyliūtė), Jūratė Širvytė - Baroque dance and gestures.
Karolina has sung the role of Flora in M.R. de Lalande's opera "Les fontaines de Versailles" at "Radviliada Festival 2021". In 2022 Karolina has brought to life the character of Euridice in G. Caccini's opera "Euridice" at the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania. Karolina is often collaborating with colleagues in Latvia. In 2022 soprano participated at the French Baroque Summer Course organised by CMBV - Centre de musique baroque de Versailles during 38. Régi Zenei Napok / Early Music Festival in Vác, Hungary. As well as Karolina took part in the masterclasses by Prof. Anna Samuil (Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin, Staatsoper Unter den Linden) and pianist Matthias Samuil at VERÃO CLÁSSICO 2022 Summer Academy in Lisbon, Portugal.
Karolina has sung the role of Aurora in S. Landi's opera "La morte d'Orfeo", which premiered on the 3rd and 4th of September 2022 at the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania. In November 2022 Karolina attended the masterclasses given by the eminent Simone Kermes in Germany, Görlitz, where she has sung at two Baroque Opera Gala concerts concluding the workshop.
In March 2023 soprano premiered the role of Livietta in comic intermezzo "Livietta e Tracollo", an opera for two comic characters, composed by G.B. Pergolesi at Marco Scacchi Early Music Festival 2023 in Vilnius, as well as, the artist has sung in a collaborative performance "PLAY, SING, DANCE pop-up" for Bach in the Subways 2023 worldwide initiative at the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania. In 2023 Autumn, Karolina took active part in chamber music masterclasses "Lied Mastery" given by Prof. Hans Eijsackers at Organum Concert Hall in Vilnius.
Other creative long term collaborations include - ESMÉ/Essence duet with Lithuanian pianist Diana Kaziulytė, where the artists are focusing on romantic and XX c. classical repertoire, as well as, SuDvasia duo - a musical tandem with Latvian keyboardist Jana Zariņa (piano, organ, harpsichord).
